Website Spotlight: Our Circle Time Theme

This month, we would like to spotlight a client website (Four Stars Childcare Facility) that was created based on our Circle Time child care website theme. This theme is 100% mobile friendly so it displays perfectly on all device screen sizes.

This website theme is a client favorite because of its versatility to easily adapt to the client’s color theme, the decorative page icons at the top of the page and the overall clean, organized layout.

Four Stars Childcare had a Facebook page for their business so we seamlessly tied in their Facebook feed on the homepage to display their latest news.  Their contact page has a clickable, interactive Google map and they also have the enhanced Photo Gallery feature on the Gallery page.

6 Facebook Post Ideas for your Child Care Business

Aside from posting photos of your cute kids in your classrooms, do you often wonder what you should post on Facebook?  Here are some suggestions for your social media posts in 2018 to get your parents (and potential parents) connected and engaged:

  1. Latest News & Events: What are you planning for 2018?  Special upcoming visitors or field trips?  Planning to add new playground equipment?  Share exciting plans with your parents and potential parents on Facebook!
  2. Share a video: It is so easy with cellphones these days to create high-quality, short videos (1 minute or less) that are easily uploaded to your child care Facebook page.  You could capture special events, lunchtime, outdoor time fun or children engaging in learning activities in the classroom.  Make sure and get permission from parents of any children appearing in the videos beforehand, of course.
  3. Link to your Google and/or Facebook Reviews: Have you been directing people to your Google & Facebook pages for reviews? Excellent!  Thank those parents by responding to their reviews and then share them occasionally on your feed and remind your parents that you love your parent reviews!
  4. Inspirational child-rearing quotes and phrases: Spread positivity and encouragement now and then by referencing inspirational (or funny!) child-related quotes.  Don’t forget to give credit to the author.
  5. Engage your audience: Ask your followers to participate in a Facebook poll or to comment/share their own stories on parenting.  Considering a field trip and can’t decide between two options?  Start a Facebook poll – fun!
  6. Remind people why you’re different: Capitalize on your visibility with your audience and share key benefits you offer that your competitors may not.  Remind people why your business is different through success stories, your specialized curriculum and unique learning opportunities for your children for example.

Good luck and if you’re not already a client, we hope to be doing business with you soon!

New Project Profile: A Custom Child Care Logo & Website Template

Our Brooklyn-based client needed a new logo and website for their brand new, state-of-the-art child care business.  They knew they wanted a friendly, smart owl associated with their brand so we started with a custom logo design.  We provided 6 unique logo concepts to the client and were able to quickly move into the web design phase after choosing their favorite logo.  The client chose a one of our child care website templates (Kinder Preppers) and elected to make some additional enhancements and customizations to make it even more tailored to their specific audience.  We placed custom imagery throughout the site, customized the color palette with their new logo colors and added additional pages and features such as the detailed Career Opportunities and Latest News section on the homepage.

Template Versus Custom Child Care Web Design

In today’s blog, we are answering some common questions related to choosing template versus custom child care website design.  We do create websites both based on our pre-designed templates as well as 100% custom child care websites.

I like a template but I want different photos. Does this require a custom design?

No, we don’t charge an additional fee to change out any stock images on our template designs that don’t apply to your specific audience. For example, if the template shows images of school-age children and you only care for babies & toddlers, we can change out those stock photos if they appear on the template you like.

What is the benefit to going custom?

Having us create a custom child care theme allows you to provide complete design direction on what you want to see in terms of colors, style, graphics, content sections, photos, etc.  We send you a questionnaire that allows you to provide all of your input and we design the unique theme around your preferences.  See image below of a recent custom child care website design for Fun Farm Centers.

Can I choose my own pages or do I have to use the titles shown on the templates?

Yes, you choose your own page titles whether you choose template or custom.  Every one of our website setup packages allows you to choose your own page titles. See website example below of a website based on our Academic Success theme.

What if I don’t have content for all of the pages I want?

We have generic content for common pages like About, Programs, Enrollment, Curriculum, etc.  We can use this content to fill-in where you need help getting your website pages complete and launched.

3 Add-On Features to your Child Care Website

In case you missed these available enhancements to your child care website, here’s a quick reminder of three of our more popular services:

The Detailed Career Inquiry Form (with Resume Upload feature)

We can create a dedicated page for “Careers” on your website and install a detailed Career Inquiry form that includes fields to collect their contact information, their interest, their education and background and also a resume upload feature.  You can now direct interested applicants directly to your website to start the process of becoming a member of your team.  Check out an example at  Douglas Academy’s website.

Fillable PDF Child Care Form Creation

Often, our child care business owners want to automate and simplify their child care forms  making it easier for parents to access, fill out and return.  We can take your Microsoft Word or PDF forms and convert them into fillable PDF forms that can be filled in and saved electronically.  Parents can go to your Enrollment page, download, save, and fill out the forms on their computer.  When they are done, they simply click to email them to you – all digitally and efficiently.  Request a custom quote for this service as each form tends to be unique in size and time to convert.

Password-Protected Parent Portal

A Parent Portal page is an additional page (or pages) we can add to your website that are protected via a username and password you choose.  You can use this page to make available information, forms, photos, announcements, etc only to your enrolled parents with the access login.  The content for this page is easily managed via the back-end system, along with all of the other pages on the website.

For more information on these and other add-on services, please visit our “Website Options” page on our website.

Is Your Child Care Business Listing on Google My Business?

It’s been called Google Places, it’s essentially tied to Google Maps, but it’s now referred to as, “Google My Business.”  If there is one thing you need to do for your local child care business, if you haven’t already, it is to make sure you have a confirmed listing on Google My Business.  It’s critical to making sure your website appears in local searches on Google for your type of business.

Your Google business listing is essentially your online business card – free advertising.  This is the place to publish your operating hours, provide current contact info, your website address, and for people to leave you reviews (which show up in your Google listing.)  Are you more likely to click on a child care business with zero ratings or ten 5-star ratings?  Drive your customers to your Google listings for all positive reviews!

This page on Google’s website outlines the benefits, how easy it is to sign up, and a link to get started.  If you already have a listing, now is a great time to make sure all of your information is updated.
