When Will My New Child Care Website Appear in Google Searches?

Many of our clients who have created a brand new website with us on a brand new domain often ask how soon their new website will appear in those important google searches. We get it – your new child care website is live and you are ready for it to start sending new visitors & business your way. Please know that we want the same for you and have set you up for great results. This post will outline what happens now that your new site is live and what to expect in the coming months from the search engines.

First, please know that we have setup your website to be fully search engine optimized at launch. Your top keyword phrases are where they need to be on your website in order to drive the most traffic to your website. Your site will be searched by Google within days after launch – essentially adding your website to their indexes – and they will pickup those all important keywords when your site is added to their databases.

If your new site was launched to replace a website that was on a domain that is over a year old, you do not have to be concerned with the “Google Sandbox” waiting period. If, however your new site is also on a brand new domain, unfortunately, there is a waiting period with Google – often referred to as “being in the google sandbox.” During this probationary period of several months after site launch, Google is essentially verifying that your site is trustworthy. During this initial term, you will likely not see your website show up for searches for child care in your local area, unless you already have your business verified on Google Maps (see next paragraph.) Unfortunately, there is not a stated guide on exactly how many months this takes but in our experience, it seems to take around 4 to 6 months. We know that sounds like an eternity but good things are coming – don’t despair! We know it is hard to be patient, especially when it comes to monetizing your new website, but once you get past this waiting period, your site will be out of the sandbox and should start to appear in searches for your top keyword phrases.

Finally, if your business is not yet verified on Google Maps, you should do that ASAP to get your business showing up on local search results. Google provides these steps for adding your business to google maps. After you submit your physical address, Google will mail you documentation to confirm your listing at that location. This process might take several weeks with Google but once that is done, you should then enjoy new website visitors from Google maps.
